Newcastle United will seek to extend their astonishing start to the Premier League season by following up a superb performance at Tottenham Hotspur with a win on Saturday afternoon at St James' Park.

It's been a season to remember so far for the Toon Army as they've had their best start to a campaign in years.

They currently sit pretty in fourth, picking up impressive results, playing attractive football, mixed with some wonderful goals to compliment a staggering start.

There are concerns the side will begin to stutter and fall off from the leading six but at the moment there seems to be no sign of slowing down.

The same can't be said for Aston Villa however, as they've had a tumultuous first 12 games.

Villa are currently placed 15th in the Premier League table, only picking up three wins so far, a record which saw the end of the tenure of Steven Gerrard as manager of the Midlands based side.

Although since this sacking things have begun to look more positive.

Whilst they had no manager in the dugout they employed Aaron Danks as a stand-in until an appointment was made and he fulfilled his role perfectly, coaching a superb 4-0 home victory to Brentford.

This performance included all the qualities that Villa had lacked going into this game, being clinical in front of goal, defending well and controlling the game to their tempo.

Since then a new man has been put in charge, a familiar face in the Premier League, Unai Emery.

After Villa met his Villareal release clause, Emery was quick to accept the terms and will take over from November 1st, meaning he'll be in the stands for this one.

Team News

Newcastle United

Newcastle have no fresh injury woes to ponder over as their only absentees remain those who suffered long term injuries, this including record signing, Alexandar Isak who's still nursing a thigh injury picked up on international duty with Sweden last month.

Instead the north-east club have potential returning faces to the match day squad. Allan Saint-Maximin has trained well and reacted to treatment positively putting him in contention for a spot on the bench this weekend. This hamstring injury was originally feared to keep him out up until the World Cup so this most certainly is unexpected but good news for fans and coaches.

Elliot Anderson has also recovered from a niggle that kept him out against Spurs. These two returning to action compliments the return of fan-favourite, Jonjo Shelvey, who made a cameo in the latter stages to see out their win last time out.

Aston Villa

Villa have a similar story to Newcastle's team news with a key player being restored to the first team as fullback, Lucas Digne has had a full week of training after an ankle injury kept him out of the past five games. If he was to make an appearance this would most likely be from the bench.

Boubacar Kamara is back on the grass but hasn't joined up with the team so this game comes too soon for him, but the signs are positive and he should feature before the break for the World Cup.

Apart from this The Clarets have no new issues to deal with and have a healthy squad to choose from.

Predicted Lineups

Key Players

Newcastle United - Miguel Almiron

Who else could it be?

The Paraguayan has been completely transformed under boss Eddie Howe, not only has he added goals to his game but his all round game has improved too. His confidence on the ball is unrecognisable from the Miguel Almiron of old, beating his man time and time again, giving opposition defences headaches.

October has been the Month of the Miggy as he's bagged 5 in 5, with no exception to the odd wonder goal. He's firmly put his name on the team sheet as each game he seems to get better and better, to the disbelief of not only football fans, but more importantly, Newcastle fans.

His defensive attributes are admirable too, with his busy work ethic making him a manager's dream.

Aston Villa - Leon Bailey

Leon Bailey has had a difficult start to life in England, struggling to find form and fitness, being unable to show the undeniable quality that he has.

When at Bayer Leverkusen he set the league alight with his flair and pace, something we are yet to see in full flow in the Premier League but against Brentford he showed glimpses of these attributes.

In arguably his best performance in a Villa shirt he gave the Brentford back line a torrid time, grabbing a goal and assist, where he seemed to have had the shackles let loose, giving him a chance to express himself.

Villa fans will hope he can continue this form and turn into the player they hoped they signed. He's a luxury for any side and manager as he qualities can win you games, its jut getting that out of him in the right system which has seemed to be the issue so far.

He is most certainly someone to look out for under Emery's reign as it could be make or break for his Villa career, and a performance on the level of the one against Brentford would do no harm in getting him in the new man's good books.

Previous Meeting

It's hard to say the last encounter between these sides was a classic, because in truth it was far from it.

It took a Kieran Trippier free kick midway through the first half to break the deadlock in what turned out to be the game's only goal, giving Newcastle all three points.

Villa contested the Toon backline, dominating possession and having six shots on target but were unable to find a response.

Highlights from the game can be found below.
