Both Cameroon and Serbia head into the second group game with zero points, and chasing a top two of Brazil and Switzerland has really boosted the stakes in this one.

Cameroon met with the Swiss in a somewhat equal contest, and it all came down to who could take their chances in the end - that was Nati, who sealed the win with a single goal, coming from, coincidentally, the Cameroon-born Breel Embolo.

It's fair to say, Serbia didn't stand too much of a chance when they were put up against outright favourites Brazil in their World Cup opener. Considered successful for the Eagles was keeping the South American side out for over an hour, but then it was Richarlison's time to shine - Spurs' in-form striker struck twice in 11 minutes to inflict a 2-0 defeat on the Serbians.

If the Indomitable Lions are to advance into a qualification spot approaching into the final group game, they must hope that Brazil avoid defeat against Switzerland, and better the Brazilians' result.

The same applies for Serbia - a point wouldn't do much good for either side, turning up the heat ahead of the ultimate Group G matchday.

These two nations have only ever met once in the past, that being a 2010 friendly - the exhilarating seven-goal thriller saw the Eagles victorious by just a sole goal.

Neither Cameroon or Serbia have progressed further than the group stage in any World Cup this century.

Cameroon

Rigobert Song's side aren't particularly phased by an injury situation - they have only one known problem within the squad, as Swansea midfielder Oliver Ntcham is noted as a major doubt.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is in ridiculously good form at the moment, so will most likely retain his place, albeit he may not be playing alongside the same striking partners as he was in the Switzerland loss.

Experienced and usual captain Vincent Aboubakar was limited to just 16 minutes in his substitute appearance in the last outing, but it will be interesting to see whether Song reverts back to his regular talisman, or sticks with the same attacking line he chose in the opener.

Serbia

The Eagles aren't hugely impacted by injuries either, but slightly more so than Cameroon.

After a two-goal defeat to Brazil, manager Dragan Stojkovic expressed his frustrations that top scoring striker Aleksandar Mitrović wasn't up to full fitness, though should start on Monday morning. The same matter applies for Juventus pair Filip Kostic and Dusan Vlahovic, with the latter in fact making a cameo appearance off the bench.

  • Likely Lineups

Serbia

  • Key Players

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Cameroon)

The Germany-born Cameroonian is now into his third consecutive World Cup, and at 33 years of age, he will be looking to make this one his greatest.

Choupo-Moting's career at Bayern Munich has seen an improvement of late, banging in goals for fun. The forward has scored six in his last six, not forgetting his two assists either.

Predominantly known for his high work-rate, direct dribbling ability and power, Choupo-Moting brings versatility in the final third, and is a composed finisher - whether it's bagging a goal or setting one up, it's highly likely that he will flaunt his ability well in Qatar.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (Serbia)

When the topic of Serbia's star man is discussed, you really can't look past Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic.

To see his name on the teamsheet will sure unnerve the Cameroon defence, the statistic of 50 international goals in his 77 caps for the Serbia National Team proving his worth and quality.

He almost always offers a decent attacking output, and also provides dominance in the air, so you'll consistently get an all-round impressive striking display with Mitrovic, who will bid to help his nation reach the Round of 16 for the first instance since 1998.
