Every superstar gets to a stage in their careers where the rumors and speculation begins regarding their futures and that is currently the situation with Big Show and Mark Henry and to some degree, Chris Jericho. The situation surrounding Y2J is different as he is still performing at a good level and is involved in some of the main storylines in the company, whereas Show and Henry are barely used on television anymore.

Jericho's absence delayed?

Instead of wondering when Jericho is retiring most fans are questioning when he will be taking his next break from the company to return to working with his band, Fozzy. Reports had speculated that his latest run was coming to its end very soon, with Hell in a Cell being his final performance, however, now he has been listed as performing on Raw on the 26th of December in Chicago.

This could mean that Jericho's run is set to be extended and he will carry on working with the company until then or he could simply be making a one-off special appearance in a dark match for the live crowd.

Transitioning into a new role

The situation is different for Mark Henry and Big Show, no longer are they regulars on WWE television the two giants appearances tend to be rare, mainly reserved for house shows. According to reports on NoDQ.com, the WWE is beginning to transition both men into backstage, public relations work instead of being active wrestlers.

Both men are loyal 'company guys' who have served the WWE for a long time and it is no surprise that they want to stick around just as it's no shock that the company want them to stay as well. Whilst neither man is officially retired from in-ring competition, Big Show is scheduled for a WrestleMania match with Shaq, they are certainly slowing down with the WWE moving forward with their 'New Era' and that is why WWE are creating new roles for them.
