The newly-formed NBA G-League team from Latin America, Mexico City Capitanes are making a lot of noise in the United States after their solid start of the season.

After leaving Memphis with one victory and one loss in the span of three days, Capitanes CDMX continued their road trip by visiting the Lakeland Magic in Orlando.

Led by a massive 30-point performance by Justin Reyes, Capitanes defeated Lakeland to record their second win of the season.

Team play

Reyes, who started the game instead of the Mexican national Fabian Jaimes, was one of three Capitanes players to score at least 22 points in the game. The team coached by Ramón Días also had five players in double digits.

It should be noted Alfonzo McKinnie is having a great start with the Latin American side, averaging 24 points and 10 rebounds through the first three games of the season.

We must remember Capitanes CDMX only scheduled away games for their first campaign in the Development League due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The team's training facility is at Texas Christian University in Forth Worth, Texas.
