Arsenal made a strong start to their new Premier League campaign last weekend, beating Crystal Palace away from home in a thrilling 2-0 win.

Gabriel Martinelli was on target for the Gunners, as a Marc Guehi own goal helped get Arsenal over the finish line in the game.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was delighted with his side's performance, he said : "We have moments where we have to show and dig in and be accountable in our job, especially when we are defending deep, and we did that fantastically well, so I'm really happy to get the clean sheet and the win."

Leicester had a contrasting opening weekend, throwing away a 2-0 lead at home to Brentford

Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall put the Foxes in the lead, before goals from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva rescued Brentford a point in the second half.

The Gunners did the double over Leicester last season, beating Brendan Rodgers' side 2-0 both at home and away. The last time the Foxes beat Arsenal was back in 2020 at the Emirates Stadium, where a late Jamie Vardy goal was all that separated the two sides.

Arsenal

Arsenal trio Takehiro Tomiyasu, Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira have all been photographed in training before Saturday's game, and could have a chance of featuring on the Gunners' bench.

Winger Reiss Nelson is the only doubt for Arsenal, with the 22-year-old appearing to confirm an injury in a cryptic Instagram story on Thursday.

Leicester City

Leicester City have no fresh injury concerns going into this weekend's fixture, however will still be without the already injured Ricardo Pereira, Harvey Barnes and Ryan Bertrand.

Leicester City

Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal's new main man Gabriel Jesus will be desperate to open his goal scoring account for the North London side on Saturday after failing to score against Crystal Palace.

The Brazilian looked sharp against the Eagles last weekend, looking dangerous whenever he was involved in the play.

Jesus scored 13 goals and contributed a further 12 assists in all competitions last season for Manchester City, and looks certain to have an even more prolific season in his new colours.

Jamie Vardy

Despite missing 22 games due to injury, Vardy still finished last season with 15 Premier League goals.

Like a fine wine, the 35-year-old seems to get better as he gets older, and has been constant thorn in the Gunners' side over the years.

Vardy has scored a whopping 11 goals in 13 appearances against Arsenal in the Premier League and will be looking to add to that tally on Saturday.
