Antonio Conte returns to Stamford Bridge this weekend in search of his first victory against former club, Chelsea, since taking over at Tottenham Hotspur.

Thomas Tuchel will be keen to continue his impressive form against his Italian counterpart, with his Chelsea side winning on all three occasions against Conte's Tottenham side last season.

Chelsea handed debuts to new signings Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella last weekend as they edged a 0-1 victory at Goodison Park against Everton courtesy of a Jorginho penalty.

Tottenham Hotspur go in to Sunday's clash full of confidence after their convincing 4-1 demolition of Southampton FC. However, Antonio Conte will be aware of the drought of Tottenham victories at Stamford Bridge with just one win in 37 games for the North London side (Sky Sports.)

  • Team news

As Marcos Alonso creeps closer to a move away to BarcelonaTuchel confirmed two certain absentees for the game.

"Marcos Alonso is not in training at the moment as he tries to finalise his move, so he won't be in contention for Sunday."

Mateo Kovacic has also been ruled out of the derby with a new injury.

Conte was without just Oliver Skipp last time out while Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Matt Doherty were all deemed unfit to start but featured in the latter stages.

"About injuries, a little problem with Clement Lenglet. I don't think he's available for the game against Chelsea. He had a little problem. Skipp, I think a couple of weeks."

  • Game plan

The UK is going through a heatwave and Sunday's game promises to be a hot one, something Tuchel will look to work with in his game plan.

" At times it will be difficult and draining. It's a question of who has the will and ability to play through the pain. I'm not there yet if it influences my starting XI.

"They are a competitive and talented squad."

The Chelsea manager was also asked on how to deal with the lethal partnership of Harry Kane and Heung Min Son.

" It's important we are good on the ball, the dominant team, and hopefully put the game into the opponents' half. We then have to control the counter attack."

Conte was asked about his reliance on Kane and Son who have continued to flourish under the Italian.

"You know very well that for us Harry and Sonny are vital.

"These are two important players but at the same time we need to find different solutions. The way we attack gives us different solution. A team with ambition needs many solutions to score goals. At the same time we have to sure solidily defensively."

  • Transfers

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have been praised for their strong transfer windows and both sides are looking to conclude more business before the window closes.

"We could use one more central defender if you look at the numbers and that we play with a back three.

"Some players stay your players because you were very close and Auba is one of these players."

Conte has been pleased with his side's business this window.

"We signed players with common sense, to find players with right characteristics, to help us have the quality. To have reliable players, players ready to have a good impact."

Both managers will be very keen to win what looks to be a close contest that could be pivotal in the season for both Tottenham and Chelsea.
