Surrey have signed all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as their second overseas player for this year's edition of the T20 Blast.

The 32-year-old, who has scored just over 5000 runs and taken more than 300 wickets in his international career, will be able to play for county throughout the month of June.

Linking up with Sangakkara, Stewart delighted

Bravo joins Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara as Surrey's other overseas player for the 2016 season. Sangakkara will be available for the whole season and will play in all three formats having enjoyed his time at the county last summer.

"Dwayne is one of the top all-rounders in world T20 cricket," Surrey director of cricket Alec Stewart said.

"He's played with great success wherever he's been, so to secure his services is a great coup for us," the former England wicketkeeper added.

Solid international career so far

Bravo has played an important role for the West Indies in recent years, where he has featured in 40 tests, 164 ODIs and 55 20/20 internationals.

He has taken 199 wickets in ODIs, 86 in test matches and 40 in T20s and is sure to help Surrey to go past the group stage in a format which they have been largely disappointing in over the last few years.

Big Bash for Bravo, a return to England

Bravo has recently been playing in the Big Bash in Australia for Melbourne Renegades. He will be playing for the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League in the league's inaugural season.

Bravo will be seeking a new team in the Indian Premier League after his side, the Chennai Super Kings, were suspended alongside the Rajasthan Royals.

The West Indian is the second highest wicket taker in the history of 20/20 cricket on 285, only behind Lasith Malinga who has 295.

The English game will be nothing new to Bravo as he has played for both Kent and Essex in the English T20 competition.

He turned out for Kent during the 2006 season and found it tough to make much of a positive impact in the short time he was at the club.

However when he was at Essex in 2010, he had a much better time and helped them coast past the group stages before falling in the quarter-finals finals.
