England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has been bought by the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

Buttler to play for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL

Buttler decided to put himself forward for the IPL auction after being dropped from the test arena with England, and was snapped up for £385,000 on the first day of the auction by the Mumbai Indians to play in the competition which runs from the 9th April to the 29th May.

The England man struggled with consistency in test matches for his country, and was rightly dropped for Johnny Bairstow who has since done really well since replacing Buttler. It seems that Buttler has accepted that it might be a long way back to get back in the team in that form of the game.

Buttler will play in the IPL for the first time

Buttler will play for the first time in the IPL, but is seen as one of the hottest properties in the shorter form of the game with his big hitting capabilities. He'll turn out as a great addition to the Mumbai Indians for this upcoming season.

The 25-year-old has been in scintillating for England lately with two centuries in his last three One Day International games, and scored a brisk 48 of 28 balls in the other, and is starting to show what a fine player he is for England.

Buttler is now a big part of what England hope to achieve in next few years as they try and get back to the top of the ODI game, and he has shown he can do it in all kinds of conditions which is pivotal as he heads to India to play in the IPL.

Buttler has a heavy workload in the next few months

Before Buttler goes to play in the IPL in April, he has the Twenty Twenty World Cup with England to play in, and he has the chance to further show why he is a man in demand, and truly is one of the finest in the shortest form of the game with his big hitting abilities.
