Swansea manager Garry Monk has been rewarded for his side's impressive start to the new Premier League season, with the Barclays Manager of the Month award for August. The former club defender has managed The Swans since he retired from playing professionally last year, and this is Swansea's best start to a league season for 91 years.

His side have scored 6 goals so far in the 2014-15 campaign, and have the potential to qualify for European competitions once again this year if they keep up their consistency.

He beat Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho to claim the first managerial honour of the season; and The Swans have a tough test on their hands when they come up against The Blues tomorrow.

This game has extra significance, as Chelsea and Swansea are the only teams in the league currently to have won all 3 matches - and Mourinho's side will be the clear favourites to take all 3 points in their intriguing fixture. Despite having the tag of the underdog, Swansea may provide a shock like they did on the opening day of the season, when they beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford thanks to goals from midfield duo Ki and Sigurdsson.
