Leicester City have moved close to their fourth transfer this summer by reportedly agreeing a fee with French side, SM Caen for impressive midfielder, N'Golo Kante - who has been likened to ex-Chelsea midfielder, Claude Makelele.

Leicester look set to capture the midfielder's signature

Kante, 24, has been subject to a lot of Premier League interest this summer. Arsenal, Southampton and Newcastle were all reported to have been showing interest - highlighting the Frenchman's potential.

However it's Leicester who appear to have won the race for  Kante's services. Kante would be joining a squad in high confidence after their exceptional survival last season to stay in the Premier League.

Caen realsesed a statment on the 3rd of July stating "We will reach an agreement with Leicester City in the coming hours, the discussions will then be with the player."

But with Nigel Pearson's sacking last Tuesday and no recent developments since that statement, Kante may decide that joining Leicester could be too much of a risk and choose not to join the Foxes, instead choosing French side Marseille who have already had a bid rejected for the midfielder.

Pearsons sacking may prove pivotal for Leicester's season before it has even begun

Leicester have already made big signings this year, which were all seemingly oversaw by Pearson. So would the likes of Okazaki and Fuchs - who presumably signed to fit into Pearson's style of play -  fit into the system that the a new manager potentially brings?

It's an interesting predicament that the Foxes find themselves in; perhaps one that could've been avoided, as it has been reported by the Telegraph that part of the reasoning for Pearson's sacking is related to the infamous academy sex tape, of which caused Pearson's son James to be axed from the club.

Never the less the longer Leicester remain managerless perhaps the more key signings they miss out on, and with pre-season looming just around the corner, Leicester will have to work quickly in order to secure their future as a Premier League side.
