Reports suggest that Jack Wilshere could be fit for the upcoming World Cup. Wilshere has been out with a hairline fracture sustained last month while on international duty.

Arsene Wenger has informed Roy Hodgson that Wilshere's path to recovery is going well and it would be another 2-3 weeks before he could make his comeback. The timing would put him in contention to make Arsenal's squad for the FA Cup final too. England have lost several key players to injury this term and news of Wilshere's injury recovery will come as glad tidings for Roy Hodgson.

He would be essential in adding some midfield steel to the lineup alongside Gerrard against the likes of Uruguay and Italy in what is arguably a second 'Group of Death'. Wilshere's career has been plagued by injuries and lengthy time out on the sidelines which in turn has stunted his development for club and country.

He will be hoping that this current ailment is the last one for a long time. England and Arsenal fans will be hoping that he could recapture the form that made him a sensation in 2011. The provisional 30 man squad for the World Cup will be announced on 13th May.
