Young Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo has urged fans to be patient regarding his goalscoring form, with the 21-year old having failed to score in 16 competitive matches for the Gunners.

Sanogo scored four against Benfica in the Emirates Cup, but has never scored in the domestic league or cups, despite playing as the main striker in Arsenal's FA Cup winning run last season. His game time this season has been cut short due to the arrival of Danny Welbeck from Manchester United on deadline day, as well as several injuries to himself. After 26 goals in 55 games for his first club Auxerre, Sanogo is adament that the goals will come soon enough:

"I feel the pressure but people should not forget that, three years ago, I was living in the streets. Today I’m playing for Arsenal. When I joined Auxerre’s training centre I knew I wanted to become a footballer and I told myself I had to be the best player there. I had to sign that contract and, after being injured for two years, Arsenal found me."

"Goals will come as long as I keep working hard. I am always positive and usually when I start scoring I don’t stop. I haven’t set any targets yet, all I care about is that I play and improve my game. Of course people will pressurise me – sometimes I get good critics and sometimes they are unfair, but I am catching up slowly and I am confident my time will come."

Sanogo, who is currently recovering from a hamstring injury, will be pressing for a place in the Arsenal first-team for their next match against Hull, which is in a week's time. With Olivier Giroud injured, Sanogo is the second choice striker behind Danny Welbeck and will be hoping to take any chance that may come to him by the horns, and finally grab his first Gunners goal.
