Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has said in his pre-match press conference that Olivier Giroud is 'miles ahead of schedule' in his return from injury.

Giroud was injured in the 2-2 draw against Everton back in August, and has not played or trained since. Despite being ruled out until 2015 with the injury to his ankle, Wenger has said that the Frenchman could start full training in as early as three weeks time:

"Giroud is doing very well. He's three weeks ahead of schedule and I think he will join in normal training after the international break. Yes of course it is a huge boost. He's miles ahead of schedule."

The news will be a bonus for the Gunners, who have been ever-reliant on Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck for goals this season, with the latter being the only available striker for the majority of the season.
