Switzerland International Xherdan Shaqiri, currently of Bayern Munich, was linked with a host of European clubs in the Summer but no bids came in for the exciting winger, he is now being linked with a move to the Premier League with a January switch looming.
Shaqiri has been very much a bit part player in the Pep Guardiola machine and only made 17 appearances in the Bundesliga last campaign, scoring six goals in the process. It is now the Swiss winger's third season with Bayern Munich and he has only made 50 Bundesliga appearances in that time. Shaqiri is now 23 and he is at the age where he is still developing as a player and needs regular first team football.
Shaqiri first caught the eye in the Champions League for Swiss champions FC Basel, in his time there he scored 18 goals in 92 appearances. His most notable performance came as he grabbed two assists against Manchester United in a shock 2-1 win back in 2011.
Undoubtedly Shaqiri is a massive talent but is he really what Arsenal need right now? Shaqiri can play on either flank or just behind the striker, this is something Arsenal have in abundance and unless one player departs it would be a major surprise if a bid was even considered.
