As Danny Welbeck prepares to face his old club Manchester United on Saturday evening, he will be delighted with how he has settled in at the North London club. The England international has found the net five times in 12 appearances for Arsene Wenger's side, including a magnificent hat-trick in his side's 4-1 victory against Galatasaray in the Champions League.

'He is the perfect fit for us'

- Mikel Arteta

Arsenal teammate Mikel Arteta has recently spoken to Arsenal Player on how the 24-year-old has settled in at The Emirates, suggesting that it has been a smooth transition: “I think Danny is the perfect fit for us, [with] the kind of character he is and the kind of player he is,” he said. “Personally I have been surprised by his technical capacity, the way he understands the game, his work rate."

Continuing, Arteta confessed that Welbeck has surprised him since arriving at the club, suggesting that the young man has all the attributes of setting himself amongst the elite: “I rate him more now than I used to and this is a good sign because normally the opposite is true when you look a player on a daily basis. I’m glad he is with us. He has got everything here to become one of the best strikers in the Premier League.”

There is a suggestion that Arteta may be getting ahead of himself somewhat, but his comments prove that Welbeck has already started to make an impression on his fellow players at Arsenal. A match-winning performance against Louis van Gaal's United this weekend, and the Dutchman might just regret letting him go.
