Arsenal centre forward Lukas Podolski has become a rumored transfer target for Turkish side Galatasaray.

The German forward, who has spent the second half of this season on loan at Inter Milan, has not had the most productive season in what has become a frustrating period in his career. Podolski has only made 34 appearances for both Arsenal and Inter Milan this season, scoring only four times, and just once for the Italian side.

Podolski's future at Arsenal is uncertain after comments made towards Arsene Wenger when he initially joined Milan, the German accused Wenger of a lack of respect, claiming the Arsenal manager did not say goodbye to him when he left for Inter Milan on loan;

"I don't want communication every day as I am a professional. You do it on the training ground," said Podolski, "But when you move somewhere, you get a message. Maybe he had other problems with me but I don't know."

However, the latest reports from Italy are that Podolski is keen to return to the club after his unsuccessful period with Milan and fight for his place in North London.

"When I go back (to Arsenal) I think I have the chance to play there, I have one year left so well will see what happens. I feel very well at the club and with my teammates as well. I had a great two and a half years; I scored a lot of goals there and had a lot of assists."

With Arsenal playing so well and the likes of Theo Walcott unable to get in the first eleven, it is difficult to see Podolski getting regular first team action upon his return, and Galatasaray will be waiting in the wings for such an event. Podolski's last appearance for Arsenal came against Galatasaray in the Champions League, in which he scored two goals and, with his contract expiring next summer, Arsenal will be looking to cash in on him as soon as they can or risk losing him for free.
