Garry Monk's Swansea City have been one of the surprise packages of this Premier League season after many tipped the Welsh side to struggle and maybe even get relegated, following Monday's win at the Emirates they have in effect decided the order of the top three

Manchester City traveled to Swansea yesterday in the early afternoon kick-off and they did not disappoint their traveling fans, they were on point from the first whistle and set up like a team hell bent on making a point.

Two first-half goals from Yaya Toure and James Milner put Manuel Pellegrini's team firmly in the driving seat but a goal from Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson pegged the visitors back.

Swansea took time to settle but began the second half how the finished the first, on the front foot, and on 64 minutes Bafetimbi Gomis drilled the ball past Manchester City 'keeper Joe Hart and it looked like it was game on for the hosts.

The comeback was short lived as Toure grabbed his second, which saw the visitors take control of the game once more. The job was completed for Pellegrini's side in stoppage time when Swansea old boy Wilfried Bony added a fourth.

There was much to admire about City's performance in comparison to Arsenal's just a week ago.

Last Monday Arsenal started like a team that were halfway on the plane to a Spanish resort; there was no tempo, the play was lethargic and the passing was a million miles away from the quality Wenger's side had shown in the previous 10 games.

It was a poor performance but the biggest feature of it was the poor finishing, former Arsenal 'keeper Lukasz Fabianski was praised after the game but in all truth at least 90% of attempts on goal were straight at him or wide of the mark.

Swansea must be giving credit for how they handle Arsenal at the Emirates, Wenger's side have hit a bit of a purple patch in the last few months and Garry Monk managed Arsenal just as Jose Mourinho would have and did not so long ago.

Arsenal chased the game at 0-0 which was their undoing as they were caught by a swift suckerpunch by that man Gomis again, he has now scored two goals in two matches against the Gunners and was the catalyst for Swansea doing the double of them this season.

This time of the season is all about results and seeing the season through and with two poor performances in the space of seven days, against Swansea last week and Manchester United yesterday, it would appear they are happy to just get Champions League qualification for another season.

Arsenal are one point off securing third place which would be progress but for a large part of this season, especially the last few weeks they were almost nailed on for second. It is still possible but Arsenal need to win on Wednesday against Sunderland, then on Sunday agasint West Bromich Albion. It would also see them having to rely on Manchester City losing on the final day at home to Southampton.

It is a season that promised so much but is in danger of feeling much like any other under Arsene Wenger.
