Mark Clattenburg will officiate Arsenal’s final Premier League outing of the season on Sunday, as the London outfit host West Bromwich Albion.

This will prove to be the Clattenburg’s closing fixture of the campaign, the last of 47 competitive games in an impressive 10 months for the 40-year-old. Missing out on the Champions League final to Cüneyt Çakır, the Englishman has refereed the UEFA Super Cup final alongside further European matches involving Barcelona and Bayern Munich respectively.

The 2012 League Cup final referee has taken charge of two Arsenal games this year, an entertaining draw with Manchester City came before a nervy victory away at Crystal Palace. An official since 2004, Clattenburg oversaw the Baggies’ encounters with the same opposition and an FA Cup tie with Birmingham.

The two sides have contrasting records with the former electrician on the pitch. The FA Cup finalists have won 21 of the 30 matches under his control, including three of the four North London derbies Clattenburg has managed. Their Midlands counterparts have fallen victim to 11 losses under the official, most famously a 6-0 thumping from Chelsea in 2010.

The former go into the match following a disappointing stalemate with Sunderland, a third consecutive home game without a goal. The point attained on Wednesday night has ultimately secured third place for the Gunners, which will subsequently see the club avoid a Champions League play-off next season.

Manchester United could leapfrog their rivals should they record a convincing victory over Hull City, providing Arsenal drop all three points at the Emirates against a West Brom team with nothing to play for.
