The Chelsea veteran goalkeeper has won everything there is to win in England during his time at Stamford Bridge, including the 2011/2012 Champions League trophy. Cech has been an outstanding player for over the past decade and has arguably won his side between 9-15 points every single Premier League season with some vital saves, which includes the penalty save against Arjen Robben in the Champions League final.

However, he has grown increasingly frustrated with life at Chelsea over the past twelve months due to being the second choice goalkeeper to Courtios, 23. Due to his loyalty and dedication to the London club, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic has given the Czech goalkeeper his pick of what club he wants to go to, which seems to be London rivals Arsenal

In terms of a fee, it looks like Arsenal will secure the services of the Czech international for a fee between £9 and £15m. Considering today's market, is a very good price for both parties considering the Gunners are buying a world class goalkeeper who has three to five years left at the very top of his game. Chelsea are receiving a significant amount of money for a 33-year-old who has one year left on his contract and cannot risk the man leaving for nothing next year. Initially, Chelsea wanted to receive a home grown player as part of the deal, mentioning the likes of Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as potential parties in the move, however it seems as if Arsenal have laughed off that suggestion and the straight cash deal looks set to be completed before the end of the week, according to Sky Sources.

Petr Cech resolves Arsenal's goalkeeping troubles

Arsenal have been in serious need of a goalkeeper over the last decade, after failing to secure the services of a world class goalkeeper since Jens Lehmann, who lost his place due to some misfortunate performances in the 2007/2008 season. Since then Almunia, Fabianski, Szczesny and, last year's summer transfer addition, David Ospina have tried to make the number one shirt theirs but have failed to show the Emirates faithful that they are the answers to their goalkeeping issue.

In terms of Cech, Arsenal will be securing the services of a truly world class goalkeeper, who has the highest save percentage of goalkeepers in the Premiership who have played at least 50 games since the 2004/2005 season. Many believe that this could potentially be the final piece of the puzzle of Arsenal's squad to potentially go on to become the champions of England once again. Should the deal go through as reports are suggesting, it gives the North London side much better odds on them becoming the English champions for the fourteenth time, after a famous eleven year wait.
