Serge Gnabry is set to move out on loan again from Arsenal to Championship side Charlton Athletic, according to recent reports.

After being recalled from a dismal loan spell at West Brom - where the German winger made only three appearances for the Baggies, manager Arséne Wenger has admitted that Gnabry would be best suited to another loan move away from the Emirates as he aims to maintain consistency and continue his progression in a competitive environment.

Serge edging closer to another loan move

Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-1 win against Burnley in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup yesterday, Wenger admitted he was "tempted" to let him go elsewhere, similar to "what happened with Coquelin" - possibly, for "a month or two."

And similar to Francis Coquelin, Charlton is the most likely destination for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder. Coquelin now famously went on-loan to the London side, and was then recalled by Wenger due to the infamous injury crisis of 2014, the rest is history.

Charlton and Brighton both interested in youngster's services

Charlton boss Jose Riga is looking to bring in Gnabry on a short-term loan deal, however Brighton & Hove Albion are also interested in signing the youngster. Charlton currently lay in 23rd place in the Championship and the Addicks are desperate to escape the relegation zone, which could tempt Gnabry to move across London as he would likely get regular game time under Riga.

Brighton on the other hand are mounting a serious challenge for promotion to the Premier League for first time in the club's history, and their current right midfielder Solly March has been one of the Seagulls' most consistent players all season.

Gnabry has made ten appereances for the Arsenal first-team since making his debut in 2013, and the German u21 international has scored just once for the Gunners in a 2-1 win against Swansea City in the 2013/14 season, however injuries have seen him not featured in the Arsenal side since February 2014 - although we know he has potential, it's time for him to get regular minutes under his belt in order to fulfill that.
