Brazilian midfielder Oscar has signed a new contract at Chelsea which will keep him at the Stamford Bridge until 2019.

Oscar came under criticism before the beginning of the campaign after his lack lustre performances in the World Cup, However he has impressed so far this season scoring four goals in his 15 appearances so far.

The 23-year-old told Chelsea’s website: “I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England.”

Oscar signed for Chelsea back in 2012 for under £20 million after playing for Sao Paulo and Internacional in his home nation going on to win the Europa League in his first season.

He has also made 40 caps for Brazil since his debut 2011 and has managed to score 11 times.

Oscar added: “I have enjoyed playing here for two years, and now I have five more, so I am very happy.”
