Chelsea were held to an exciting draw against Watford, as both sides had chances at either end that were not converted. Heurelho Gomes kept his side in the game with two fantastic saves, he also picked up the man of the match award.

The game was full of action for both sides, especially Chelsea in the second half. The Blues thad plenty of chances to score, but the Watford goalkeeper Gomes was on top form and saved the Hornets on many occasions.

A volleyed attempt by Nemanja Matic and a shot by Branislav Ivanovic - after a brilliant link-up between him and Eden Hazard - were the two top stops that he made. He also sprang to his right to tip wide a Costa header with just three minutes remaining.

Watford had a few opportunities as well, but Thibaut Courtois prevented them from claiming all three points. Etienne Capoue's attempt at goal in the first half was the only main shot which gave the Belgian goalkeeper something to do.

Other than that, Watford dominated the possession in the first half and both Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo put in a good shift, despite it being another frustrating game for the pair. Both strikers started the season off well, but their form has dipped in recent weeks.

Paredes and Costa let their tempers get the better of them.

Diego Costa in trouble again

The Spaniard bullied some Watford players around in the first half, but in the 47th minute there was an eye-catching tussle as he got pushed by Juan Carlos Paredes. A few moments later, with Chelsea on the attack, Costa and the defender collided and the forward had some strong words for Paredes.

The home support were keen to see Costa sent off, mainly because this wasn't the first incident this game. The referee, Mike Dean, had a chat with the fourth official who saw the collision in front of him. In the end, Dean decided to caution both players.

Eden Hazard eased slowly back from injury

The Belgian international got substituted on after 74 minutes for Matic. Hazard, who was injured against Crystal Palace earlier this year and has been recovering every since, started against MK Dons in the FA Cup for the first time since the injury.

He also broke his remarkable goal drought, scoring a penalty to add some gloss to Chelsea's 5-1 win. Blues boss, Guus Hiddink, had this to say on his fitness: "We are being careful with Eden Hazard because we have a lot of games coming up. For him it's important to go step by step."
