After defeat on Tuesday at the hands of BournemouthCrystal Palace travel to South Wales to face Swansea hoping to end a run of five league defeats.

Despite beating Southampton and Stoke City in the FA Cup, Palace’s league form has suffered which has seen them slip to 12th.

And the loss to AFC Bournemouth this week was just another blow to a side which has been ravaged by injuries to key players in recent weeks.

James McArthur and Jason Puncheon have been added to long list of injuries meaning Alan Pardew will have to once again shuffle his pack for the game on Saturday.

One positive aspect of the game on Tuesday was that Emmanuel Adebayor featured in a cameo role off the bench, and Pardew has said he will get more minutes this weekend.

Adebayor could just be the man to kick start a Palace revival once he is up to full fitness.

In his pre-match press conference, Pardew said that league wins have "evaded" them and admitted "even a draw would be a good result at the moment" because they "need to get off the points total we're stuck on" which will "help mentally" - but the 54-year-old declared they're "going to keep pushing" in order to do so.

Palace haven’t really known a season where they have picked up so many injuries; on Tuesday night they got another two, and McArthur looks be out for the rest of the season as he has tore ankle ligaments. And Puncheon faces a prolonged period on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Add those two to Yannick Bolasie, Bakary Sako, and Joe Ledley who will also miss the game on Saturday, Palace are severely depleted at the moment.

But Pardew has hinted that Jordan Mutch and Chung-Yong Lee are expected to start at the weekend.

Connor Wickham is serving the last of his three-match ban, but Yohan Cabaye should be fit, as should Dwight Gayle and Pardew has also drafted in young talents Hiram Boateng and Sullay Kaikai into the squad.

Swansea City

Since the arrival of head coach Francesco Guidolin, Swansea have enjoyed a upturn in results; they beat Watford and Everton and then drew with West Brom on Tuesday evening.

But they are five points clear of the drop-zone and are nowhere near safe from the threat of relegation; so another big win this weekend would do Swansea the world of good.

Speaking ahead of the match, former Udinese coach Guidolin said that his team "is a good team" and said he has confidence they will "take the points to get safe."

"I said to them I am very happy and confident when we play our style," he added, saying it is "important to have confidence and every day when we work, things get better. The feeling gets better."

Swansea don’t have the same injury concerns as Palace, but Ki Sung-Yueng won’t feature because of concussion he picked up on Tuesday evening.

But new signing Alberto Paloschi is set to make his Swansea debut up front.

The game is crucial for both sides, a win for Swansea would push them further away from the drop-zone, but for Palace a win could set them up nicely before Watford visit Selhurst Park next Saturday.
