Everton are weighing up the possiblity of signing Manchester United's Danny Welbeck according to the Daily Express.
The 23 year-old has played only 21 league games this season and he is waiting to see who Manchester United appoint before signing a new contract at Old Trafford.
It is understood that Welbeck is an alternative to Lukaku, Martinez is still keen to bring the Belgian to Goodison Park on permanent deal. But if that proves to be difficult, Welbeck may be the cheaper option.
