After joining Leicester City in early June, Christian Fuchs looks to have bedded into the squad well and looks forward to playing in the Premier League - a dream that he has now been given the chance to fulfill.

Fuchs is huge in Austria

Christian Fuchs is a name that most Fox's fans probably had not heard much of before June, however in Austria he is a figure with huge stature and is described by many as being a 'national hero'.

LCFC.com also reported that the national captain has stopped to sign autographs and take 'selfies' with fans during his down-time in Austria - emphasising his importance to his home nation's football fans.

The 29-year-old's career has been somewhat revered by many Austrians and the move to the Premier League has only heightened his stature back home.

Will Fuchs fit into Ranieri's system?

Fuchs certainly is a great addition to the squad, which he has described as being 'like a family'. His experience in the game also makes him a likely starter; having represented his country 66 times and has alo appeared in the UEFA Champions League with ex-club Schalke.

Leicester sometimes looked unsure in the full-back department last year and with Paul Konchesky finding himself in extremely poor form, Fuchs may find himself in a starting position from the off - if he succeeds in finiding his feet in English football.

However as Leicester reportedly chase the signature of Monaco full-back Marcel Tisserand and Jeffrey Schlupp continues his excellent performances at left-back last season, competition for a starting position may be more fierce than ever.

Having trained with the club in his home country following his signing, Fuchs could not have asked for a better start to his Leicester career. He has been described as being relaxed and confident so far - two traits that the Fox's faithful will hope that the experienced defender can maintain, as they look to survive the dreaded second season syndrome in the Premier League.
