Loic Remy is set to put pen to paper on an illustrious deal which will see the French striker earn £70,000 per week at Anfield, as the QPR striker is set to reject Arsenal in favour of securing an £8 million deal to join up with Brendan Rodgers.

After news broke late last night that Fabio Borini was close to joining Sunderland, who he was on-loan to last season, after both clubs announced that a deal worth £12 million plus £2 million in bonus` for Sunderland`s performances next season, was agreed.

Borini was signed in Rodgers` first season from Italian side Roma, and the Italian himself never fitted in around Anfield. His first season was mainly made up of the odd goal and a few injuries, and Rodgers` soon made the player available for loan, where he jumped at the chance to join Sunderland, in an effort to regain first team football. After a successful season, Borini will now join Sunderland on a permanent basis, which clears the space for Loic Remy to join Liverpool.

Liverpool have met Loic Remy`s buy-out-clause, and will pay QPR £8 million for the Frenchman. After a season long loan with Newcastle last season, the lightning quick striker was able to earn himself a spot in the French World Cup squad.

Brendan Rodgers` has admitted in the past that he wants four strikers at the club, and with the latest addition of Remy set to sign and the sale of Borini, Liverpool are left with Daniel Sturridge, Loic Remy and Rickie Lambert. This signals that there will be room for one more striker, with Rodgers` reportedly set to sign another 5 players before the end of the window.
