Liverpool will be sweating on the fitness of striker Daniel Sturridge for this weekend's FA Cup semi-final.
The Reds travel to Wembley to take on Aston Villa, but could be without their main striker after he missed Monday night's victory over Newcastle United with a knock sustained in mid-week.
The 25-year-old trudged off in the 85th minute of a quarter-final replay win at Blackburn Rovers with a hip injury, whilst Mamadou Sakho - who suffered a hamstring injury in the same game - will be out for up to four weeks.
Rodgers, speaking in the aftermath of his side's 2-0 win over the Magpies, said: "Daniel Sturridge was injured from the Blackburn game and he just wasn't right for tonight. It's his hip, but hopefully he'll be okay for the weekend.
"I'll probably know more in the week. He said he feels reasonably fine, so we're hoping by the middle of the week we'll have a good indication of where he's at."
Asked how long Sakho's issue could keep him out for, Rodgers replied: "Three to four weeks, probably."
The Reds could still be without Mario Balotelli, who was again absent through illness on Monday - but he will face a late assessment to determine his involvement.
"He wasn't quite fit enough for tonight, so hopefully he'll train in the middle of the week," said the Liverpool manager. "He's had on and off sickness issues."
