Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has expressed the disappointment felt in the squad after a drab 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, a result which virtually ended Liverpool's chances of reaching next season's UEFA Champions League.

Despite dominating possession throughout the game, Liverpool struggled to break down an organised West Brom side, with Jordon Ibe's bar clanging effort the closest they came to scoring. Despite the disappointing performance, Liverpool have a chance to make up for it as soon as Tuesday, when they travel to Hull City, and Lovren insists that they must look forward to that.

"We're disappointed that we couldn't get the three points," Lovren told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It was a tough game for us, difficult to play against 11 players behind the ball. We had some good opportunities and didn't score.

"It's better to have a point than to lose - they also had a couple of chances on the counter-attack - but of course it was a disappointment for us. It was difficult after the game against Aston Villa. Everyone was dreaming that we would win the trophy, and we lost.

"Of course it was difficult. But we knew that we needed to move on and we were preparing well all week. Now we need to focus on the game on Tuesday against Hull City.

"It will be a typical game, similar to today. We'll need to be patient again and wait for our opportunities to score. Hopefully we'll get the three points."

In contrast to Liverpool's performance, Lovren had one of his best games of the season at centre back, easily dealing with anything West Brom threw at him, and clearing the ball off the line in the second half. However, the Croatian insisted that his personal game meant nothing if his side didn't win.
"I'm satisfied with my performance but I'm not satisfied with the point,"  stated the centre-back.

"My performance doesn't matter - the most important thing is three points and we didn't get them.

"We need to concentrate on the next game. We will not stop. There are a lot of points still in front of us and we are still confident.

"But we need to take the maximum possible points from now until the end. I hope that we can achieve that and be fourth."
