Liverpool's English right-back Glen Johnson has admitted that he expects to leave the Reds at the end of the current season, having not yet been offered a new contract extension - with his current deal set to run out at the end of the Premier League campaign.

The 30-year-old's contract ends in late June and he is a bit-part player currently, despite having started all of the past three first-team games for Liverpool. He has either been on the substitutes' bench, or left out of the matchday squad altogether, in all of their previous FIFTEEN matches, and supporters are ready to see a mass clear-out of players in the summer as they look to strengthen and challenge for the title, which they so very nearly clinched this time last year.

Johnson had this to say, to the LiverpoolEcho: "Of course [I expect to leave at the end of the season], I have no contract. I don't think that will change but we have to wait and see. I have always been professional all season, always wanted to play and that's still what I'm doing. I've got four more games and then let's see what we do in the summer.

On how Liverpool need to bring in reinforcements this summer: "Every team is going to try and do their business in the summer to try and make themselves stronger for the following season. The club needs to do that too. We have some fantastic young players but we say the same every year - we always have some good young players coming through. The club has got some business to do in the summer.
