Liverpool have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Adam Bogdan from Sky Bet Championship side Bolton Wanderers, with the Hungarian goalkeeper set to join on a free upon the expiry of his contract next month.

Bogdan becomes Liverpool's third signing of the summer, joining Danny Ings and James Milner at Anfield. Just like Milner and Ings, Liverpool have snapped him up at the end of his contract, meaning that they don't have to pay anything to Bolton. The 27-year-old, who has amassed 19 caps for his national side, has reportedly signed a three year deal and will officially join on July 1st.

The 'keeper made over 100 appearances for the Trotters since signing in 2007, at both Premier League and Championship level. He established himself as the number one choice at the Makron Stadium, ahead of veteran goalie Jussi Jaaskelainen

Bogdan is likely to be viewed as an understudy to Liverpool's number one goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet. This would see him directly replacing Brad Jones, after the Australian was released earlier this week.

Liverpool fans will have Bogdan's performances fresh in their memory, as the 'keeper produced a series of stunning saves at Anfield earlier this season to secure a 0-0 draw in the FA Cup fourth round for his side. He was injured for the replay, which the Reds won thanks to a late screamer from Brazilian Philippe Coutinho.

Despite having already made three transfers for the upcoming season, this could be just the tip of the iceberg for Liverpool's transfer dealings. They're reportedly interested in securing signatures from the likes of Christian Benteke, Mateo Kovacic and Nathaniel Clyne, whilst face a battle to keep Raheem Sterling at the club after rejecting an opening offer from Manchester City on Thursday. Sterling has already expressed his desire to leave Anfield this summer, and his sale could fund other potential moves.
