Liverpool are not interested in signing Barcelona youngster Adama Traore, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

Recent reports, most namely from Spanish newspaper SPORT - had suggested the two clubs had agreed a deal and that the player was on a flight to Merseyside to undergo a medical, but those reports are understood to be wide of the mark.

Instead, the Reds are content with their summer business - which has seen them bring in seven players, with Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino the two most expensive of their new recruits.

The two both made strong debuts for the Reds in their final pre-season friendly against Swindon Town on Sunday - as the Belgian fired a fantastic volley from the edge of the box in a 2-1 win.

And whilst teenage winger Traore is one of the most highly-rated products of Barca's La Masia youth Academy, Liverpool are sufficiently pleased with the squad at their hands and are believed to have done the last of their recruitment with Benteke's arrival.

Midlands or Staffordshire Traore's likely new destination

Nevertheless, it seems as thought Traore will get his desired move to England regardless.

Current Barcelona manager Luis Enrique - who led his side to the continental treble last year - has opted to promote the likes of Munir El Haddadi from Barcelona B, who were recently relegated to Spain's third tier, instead of him.

That has left the 19-year-old wanting to leave Catalonia in order to find regular game-time and though teams such as Bayern Munich and Manchester United have been linked with his services, his most likely suitors seem to be Aston Villa or Stoke City, whom the player will visit this week, a chance to seal his signature.

Any deal involving the player is thought to have to include a buy-back clause, should the Spanish under-19 international impress whilst in England's top-flight.

Traore has only made four first-team appearances for Barca, scoring one goal - but has impressed with his performances for their B team, having scored eight goals in 63 games over the last two years.
