Jürgen Klopp goes in search of his first league win at Anfield as his Liverpool side host an out-of-sorts Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.

The German will be hoping his side can follow up their emphatic 4-1 victory against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend, after making it back-to-back wins in all competitions in mid-week - coming from behind to beat Bordeaux 2-1 in the Europa League.

Three points on Sunday could see the Reds move up to sixth in the league, if other results also go their way, with Klopp having yet to taste victory on home soil.

His opposite number, Garry Monk has been under some pressure recently after a poor run of form which leaves them with only three wins from 13 games so far this season.

The Swans, who have never won a league game on L4 but won a League Cup tie on Merseyside in 2012-13, will look to kickstart their campaign with a statement victory.

Team News

Liverpool fans were excited to see Daniel Sturridge's name once again on the team-sheet against City, but he has since picked up another injury, and is in doubt to feature at all against Swansea.

Key midfielder, Lucas Leiva is also out of the match, due to suspension, as he picked up his fifth booking of the season last week against Manchester City.

Also during the 4-1 win, Philippe Coutinho picked up a hamstring injury which put him out of the midweek Europa League tie and he is a doubt for Sunday despite returning to training.

Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson has been training this week, following from his foot injury, that has kept him out for the last couple of weeks, but this game may come too soon for him to make his return.

For Swansea, former Red, Jonjo Shelvey won't be returning to Anfield as he is also suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card in the fixtures that took place last weekend.

The Opponents

Garry Monk has done an incredible job at Swansea City, but has recently come under pressure after a poor start to the season.

They currently sit in 14th place in the league, just five points above the relegation zone. They have won just one game in their last nine, and have not kept a clean sheet in their last seven league games.

Nevertheless, Swansea still possess some excellent players - not least striker Bafetimbi Gomis, who has scored four goals this season - more than any Liverpool player.

Head-to-Head

The head-to-head stats are in favour of Klopp's side, as they have won four of the last five Premier League meetings that have taken place between the two sides.

Liverpool are currently just six points off the top four spot, and just eight off the top of the league, and with the busy winter fixtures approaching, the Reds could see themselves climbing up the table rapidly if they can find some consistency.
