Radja Nainggolan, 26 years of age. The Belgian has been linked with a move to current defending English champions Manchester City recently, and with rumours circulating over Yaya Touré's future once more, it seems like the perfect time for the central midfielder to join the riches of the Premier League.

Yaya has been a great servant to The Citzens over the past few years, was the driving force in their league title win last season and has spearheaded their midfield with his undoubted talent - but at 31, he is not getting any younger, and it seems that he is getting much more inconsistent than he used to a few years back, especially dating back to his Barcelona days.

Ligue 1 champions and "moneybags" Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in his services, as are Serie A outfit Inter Milan - so the end of the season seems like a feasible time to cash in their asking price for Touré as long as it is not too inflated, and look for a replacement.

Nainggolan, is a ready-made replacement. He turns 27 in May, so is reaching the peak of his ability, and although he has only been at Roma since the start of 2014, City have enough financial power to match Roma's asking price for him.

Strengths

Nainggolan is very much the central midfielder who does the dirty work in the centre of the park. Touré loves to get forward, often wanting to leave his defensive duties behind - something that can be a problem for The Citzens if the formation is not a recognised 4-2-3-1 formation, with two defensive midfielders sitting to protect the defence.

His range of passing is very strong, whether that be long or short-range.

Weaknesses

Unfortunately, his disclipine is not the greatest by any stretch; 12 yellow cards already this season - but most of them were tactical fouls where he'd "take one for the team" and get booked to deny the opposition a clear goal-scoring chance

Does not get enough goals or assists to make his stats look more impressive

Why this deal might not go through

Roma have a conveyer belt of midfield talent in their ranks, all of which have been linked with Premier League moves in the past and will be in the future. The likes of Miralem Pjanic, Kevin Strootman and Alessandro Florenzi are just a few players who have been reportedly attracting interest from English clubs - Nainggolan is no different in that sense.

Rudi Garcia is building a solid set of players, and he'll be desperate to keep hold of Nainggolan, especially if he doesn't hand in a transfer request. Roma want to be able to challenge Juventus for the Serie A title and mount a proper UEFA Champions League challenge, something they are gradually starting to form. Selling a player such as Nainggolan is just shooting yourself in the proverbial foot, so to speak.

Why the deal makes perfect sense

Firstly, he is a significant improvement on Fernando, who City signed for £7million pounds last summer. He can play as a lone defensive midfielder, or alongside Fernandinho. Obviously, it's almost inevitable that Touré will not stay at City for much longer, as he is virtually flirting with other clubs in Europe such as Paris-Saint Germain and Inter Milan as just two.

Roma will bump up their asking price if they are willing to let Nainggolan go, and City have enough financial power to combat that, so any offer from £20million upwards would be tabled.
