David Silva has signalled his intentions for the rest of his Manchester City career, to help deliver the club's first ever UEFA Champions League trophy. The attacking midfielder, 29, has been in fine form this season despite some inconsistent results for City as they have so far unsuccessfully defender their Premier League title.

"I feel very good at City, the fans treat me very well there," said the midfielder to Spanish network Radio Marca. "We have won two leagues, cups - we just need to take another step in the Champions League."

City were knocked out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage by La Liga giants Barcelona last month, just like they were last season, however things could have been different this time around if Sergio Aguero had scored a late penalty in the Camp Nou.

Transfer rumours persist in linking Silva, who has scored 15 goals this season, with moves away from Manchester to clubs such as Barca, however the player explained that he has no current desire to move away. However, he did state that he would like to finish his playing days at his hometown club, Las Palmas.

"I am not thinking about [returning to La Liga] at the moment. If I had to return to Valencia, I would not rule that out. Also, I would like to play for Las Palmas and end my career there."

Both City and Silva will resume action on Saturday now the international break has finished, with City facing a tough trip to Alan Pardew's Crystal Palace side.
