Manchester City were on the recieving end of a damaging 4-2 defeat to deadly rivals Manchester United on Sunday, as goals from Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, Juan Mata and Chris Smalling broke up a double from Sergio Aguero, to leave City in fourth place. Let's take a look at how each individual player fared for City in the game.

Joe Hart: Made good saves from both Rooney and Carrick despite conceding four. Couldn't do much for any of the goals, although he may feel he could have positioned himself better for Fellaini's header. 6

Pablo Zabaleta: One of his worst games in a City shirt. Dominated physically by Fellaini in the air and tormented by Young on the grass for the majority of the game. Not his usual attacking threat either until his late assist for Aguero. 3

Vincent Kompany: Clearly unfit but that doesn't excuse the awful challenge on Daley Blind for which he could and most probably should have been sent off. Subbed at half-time. 4

Martin Demichelis:  Better than Kompany but that didn't prove to be a difficult task. Gave the ball away in the build-up to United's third goal and lost Smalling for number four. 5

Gael Clichy: Started promisingly, playing a crucial role in Aguero's opener but then faded, not properly marking Fellaini for United's second goal. 5

Yaya Tourè: Looked invisible throughout, displaying none of his defensive or attacking talents. Struggled to mark Fellaini, lacking discipline. 4

Fernandinho: A shining light in a poor City team, performing the roles of both him and Toure in midfield. A valuable member of City's team that they need to keep hold of in the summer. 7

James Milner: Gave Michael Carrick too much space in midfield before going off injured after 60 minutes, Milner perhaps lacks the experience a central position for such a key role there. 5

David Silva: Influential as ever when City managed to hold onto the ball for an extended period, cleverly set up Aguero's opener and was one of his side's better players. 6

Jesus Navas: Time after time we say the same thing about Navas, lots of pace but no end product. The Spanish winger was the main outlet for City when counter attacking but used his pace poorly, constantly giving the ball away. 4

Sergio Aguero: City's best player, the Argentinian scored two goals to take his tally to 100 goals for the club. Despite injuries he remains one of the best strikers in the world, but was left isolated during United's waves of attack on Sunday. 8
