Manchester City made it two wins in a row as they continued a mini resurgence in form on Saturday evening, beating relegation threatened Aston Villa 3-2. Goals from Sergio Aguero and Aleksandar Kolarov put City 2-0 ahead before Villa fought back through Tom Cleverley and Carlos Sanchez, but the hosts grabbed all three points thanks to Fernandinho's late goal. Let's take a look at how each player did individually.

Joe Hart: Not his best afternoon in goal, but not his worst. Hart made some good saves but was at fault for Villa's equaliser, and could have been sent off for tripping Benteke were the Belgian not incorrectly flagged for offside. 6

Pablo Zabaleta: Zabaleta has had an indifferent season but was back to his consistency against Villa, the Argentine's excellent stamina helping him contribute in defence and attack throughout. 6

Martin Demichelis: After a quiet first 45, things went slightly sour in the second as Demichelis was seemingly all over the place for both goals, and Fernandinho's late winner will have relieved him more than most. 5

Elaquim Mangala: The record-breaking fee paid for Mangala has been brought in to question a few times this season and he did little to change opinions yesterday. Uncomfortable throughout, the Frenchman struggled to contain Christian Benteke and may well be looking for a fresh start at City next season. 5

Aleksandar Kolarov: The Serbian produced possibly one of his best games of the season against Villa, constantly surging down the wing to provide a good attacking outlet on the overlap. Capping his performance with a trademark curling free-kick to make it 2-0, Kolarov will certainly have gone home happy. 8

Fernando: The defensive midfielder had a poor game in all honesty, rarely contributing when moving forward with the ball and not offering Demichelis and Mangala the protection they needed. 5

Frank Lampard: A surprise inclusion in the team, Lampard had good stages in the first-half but was involved less and less as City struggled to break Villa down, before being subbed in the second-half. He always looks better off the bench, and that showed. 6

David Silva: It was good to see Silva named in the starting line up after a serious looking head injury picked up against West Ham, but he wasn't up to his normal standards as a resilient Villa marked him well. 6

Yaya Touré: Made captain again in the absence of Vincent Kompany, Toure didn't do much to show his leadership skills and was poor once more in a real dip of form for the Ivorian. Taken off at half-time through injury, his 45 minutes won't have done much to suggest City need to keep hold of him this summer. 5

Jesus Navas: MAN OF THE MATCH. Navas produced another excellent display on the right wing, constantly proving a problem for Villa due to his quickfooted runs down the wing. He was unlucky not to get an assist from one of his many good crosses, and is certainly finding his form towards the end of the season. 8

Sergio Aguero: After Brad Guzan's error allowed Aguero to tap into an empty net for the games opening goal, Aguero had one of his quieter games. He struggled to find room amongst a deep Villa line, and will be glad to move on from the game. 6
