Manchester City have slapped a £20million price-tag on their Montenegrín striker Stefan Jovetic, as rumours that he will seek a move away from the club this summer continue to gather pace.

Since joining City from Serie A side Fiorentina in 2013, Jovetic's first-team chances have been limited. He has played just 30 times, scoring 8 goals. His chances have been restricted at times due to injury, but he has made it known about his frustration at not getting played, never more so than when he was dropped from City's UEFA Champions League registration squad, making room for Wilfried Bony.

Jovetic's injury troubles had given the likes of Liverpool and Inter Milan hope that they could prize him away for a low fee, however City believe that due to the 25-year-old still having lots of potential left, they can recoup just below the £22million pound fee they paid Fiorentina two summers ago.

A move to Liverpool would suit the Reds' need for a new striker, and could go hand in hand with a potential move to Merseyside for James Milner. The versatile midfielder has been linked with a move to L4 for many months, with his contract expiring in June. There was reported interest from Arsenal too, however rumours suggest that Milner has chosen to join Liverpool based on guarentees over playing time.

Inter Milan are the other club showing strong interest in Jovetic, however have only offered City a loan deal, rather than the permenant move that both City and Jovetic would seek to put in place.
