Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has admitted he is still uncertain where his future lies, but has confirmed he is staying with the Bavarians until the end of the 2015-16 campaign at least.

The 44-year-old Spaniard has been heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League in the past - with Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all reportedly interested in securing his services at one point or another over the past three years. Manchester City are now believed to be the frontrunners in terms of becoming the club who'll bring the former Barcelona manager to England's top flight competition, which would surprise many but also be a signal of intent to the rest of their rivals.

Contract running out, speculation hotting up

Pep's contract with the Bundesliga champions runs out in June of 2016, meaning speculation over his future has already began to go rampant. He has clinched five honours in his two-year tenure with the Munich club thus far, with only the UEFA Champions League and DFB-SuperCup eluding his grasp as of yet.

Bayern's former captain Stefan Effenberg told German Sky television yesterday that he is "pretty certain" that Pep will be departing the club next summer, but Guardiola was keen to insist that nothing was formalised and all is just speculation at the moment.

Pep still happy at Bayern, City heavily linked

He was sharp but succtinct when questioned about it, saying "this is the first and the last time that I will talk about it - I am coach of Bayern." He continued, saying that he is 'grateful' to be at the club, but has not yet decided 'what the best thing for the club is' although he is striving to be successful in each competition his side compete for.

Coincidentally, current City boss Manuel Pellegrini joined the sky Blues just a week before Guardiola opted for a switch to Germany. In 107 competitive matches, the 61-year-old Chilean boasts a points-per-game average of 2.07%, but has not won anything since the Premier League and Capital One Cup double they secured in the 2013-14 campaign.

Guardiola rejected claims he's already received offers from other clubs in Europe, and also stated he's 'very happy' with the Bavarians.
