Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has had his say, after a day to forget for his side - being comprehensively beaten by a 4-1 scoreline away from home against Tottenham Hotspur in the day's early afternoon kick-off.

It's City's third defeat in their last four fixtures (all competitions), and just adds to the frustrations of everyone attached to the club at Eastlands. Attacking-wise, they are extremely strong and boast having one of the best strikeforces in the world - but defensively, they leave a lot to be desired.

Having conceded thirteen in their last four matches, it speaks volumes for the defensive area in which they need imporvement. Spurs ultimately had nothing to lose, and took their chances to clinical effect - despite two of their goals being in offside positions.

Pellegrini bemoans City's second-half display

As quoted by Manchester Evening News, Pellegrini said the team as a whole, "didn't play well here in the second-half", which was similiar to how they managed to struggle for goals against West Ham in the second-half of their fixture last time out - despite pinning the Hammers back for the majority of the game.

He continued, saying that the league is "always very difficult", which is why when they'd won all of their first five games this term, they "didn't talk about winning the league".

However, he has remained fairly positive - saying that the team collectively "must continue working", especially "trying to play the way [they] did in the first-half."

Touré an injury doubt for Champions League clash

The powerful Ivorian created the assist for Kevin de Bruyne's opener in the first-half, but limped off ten minutes into the second-half with a hamstring strain. With that in mind, Pellegrini admitted they are unsure whether he'd be fit for selection against Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach, saying they'll "see in the way he improves during the week", to see whether or not he'll feature in their upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture.
