Manchester City are believed to be interested in securing the services of Benfica's midfielder Victor Andrade – who at the tender age of 20, is rated at an eyewatering £25million pounds according to his current club.

They are not the only interested club in the Premier League though, as last year's champions Chelsea are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the player in Portugal.

Who is he?

The right-winger, who can also play just behind the striker as well as on the left-hand side, was born and raised in Brazil.

The Portuguese giants will understandably not want to let one of the club’s most coveted stars leave, not least at the age he is currently. Having joined Benfica on an initial trial basis from Santos (in his homeland), he returned to Europe last year – where he was a mainstay in the club’s reserve team.

Featuring 35 times during the season, he won plaudits for his eyecatching performances, and earlier on in his career at Santos, was dubbed the "new Neymar" for his dazzling skills and rapid acceleration. The godson of Robinho, he made his first-team debut back in August against Estorial Praia – and is right-footed.

Andrade: A youngster with plenty of potential

After his first-team debut, the club’s manager Rui Vitória had this to say: "He [still] has way to go yet. He is class, but is still just a prototype. With the team working properly, it’ll be much easier for young players to shine [at Benfica] – which is our goal."

Although it's believed that Andrade is hoping to join the English top flight at some stage in the near future, he has admitted the campaign last term helped him, not only as a footballer but also to mature as he's getting older and continuing to develop at a fast rate.

"If you don't have joy, you will never be able to play football - I'm growing and learning a lot."
