Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, who is currently featuring on loan for Spanish giants Real Madrid, has announced he wants assurances over his future when his season long loan comes to an end in June.

I am 26 now — in the summer I will be 27 — I must be at a club where I am going to be playing regularly.

The 26-year-old Mexican headed to La Liga having struggled to feature for the Red Devils regularly, having to compete with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, the recently departed Danny Welbeck, and his Colombian replacement Radamel Falcao.

Having made one start for Los Galacticos, making a further five off the bench, it is expected Chicharito will wish to leave both clubs come the close of the season, in an attempt to be guaranteed first team football on a weekly basis. He said:

“I am fully concentrated on Real Madrid at the moment. We have a big chance to have a really successful season — and when you are fighting for La Liga and the Champions League it is not sensible to concentrate on anybody else.

“I am not sure what will happen in the summer yet — but whatever happens I need guarantees. I am 26 now — in the summer I will be 27 — I must be at a club where I am going to be playing regularly.

“Wherever I am playing next season — I will make sure I have those sort of assurances.”

The former Guadalajara striker became the first Mexican player to represent the 20-time Premier League winners, joining from the Mexican outfit in 2010. Having scored 37 goals from 49 starts and 53 substitute appearances, the striker has proved his efficiency in front of goal, and could look elsewhere in Europe for opportunities.

He is expected to feature for Real Madrid in their upcoming Copa Del Ray clash with UD Cornella, having scored in a 4-1 victory in the first leg.
