European Champions Real Madrid will attempt to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea if Iker Casillas leaves the club in the summer of 2015.
Casillas has made almost 500 appearances for Los Blancos and captained Spain to both the European Championship and World Cup titles as well as winning 5 La Liga titles, 3 European Cups and 25 personal honours.
Yet at the age of 33 Casillas is beginning to look towards the end of his career and Carlo Ancelotti believes that Manchester United's David De Gea is the most suitable replacement.
"In my opinion, David De Gea is the best keeper in the World." - Wayne Rooney
De Gea made 8 fantastic saves in United's derby match with Liverpool on Sunday and was awarded the Man of the Match reward despite the Louis van Gaal's side routing their rivals 3-0.
De Gea was born and bred in the Spanish capital Madrid and despite playing for Atletico Madrid from 2009-2011 as well as spending 7 years in the youth team for Los Rojiblancos there is believed to be no barrier for his move to the Bernabeu.
El Chiringuito reported that De Gea was the preferred option to replace the Real Madrid and Spain legend with Eduardo Inda, a Spanish journalist, claiming that there has already been 'more than words' between the club and the player.
With the 24-year-old a client of the World famous agent Jorge Mendes a move to the Bernabeu is a huge possibility with the club having strong links with the agent. However, Manchester United also do deals with Mendes in most transfer windows with many of their players clients of his.
