Manchester United have agreed a deal to bring Hoffenheim attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino to the club this summer according to the Daily Star.

The Reds have been consistently linked with the Brazilian, who scored against Chile in a friendly on Sunday, and scouts have been seen at Hoffenheim matches for the past few weeks.

The Daily Star reports that the 23-year-old will sign for United in the summer with terms agreed between him, Hoffenheim and United.

Louis van Gaal is reported to beaten both Arsenal and Liverpool to Firmino's signature after the pair were also interested in him.

A fee of around £18.6 million is expected to be what has been agreed by United, who lie 4th in the Premier League, just one point off Arsenal.

Firmino, who has a contract until 2017 with Hoffenheim, has scored a goal every 360 minutes this season and assisted 7 in 26 Bundesliga games.

In March Firmino's agent told Bild that despite a deal being agreed to stay in January with interest from Premier League sides coming, his client could leave in the summer, "It was a deal that he wouldn't make a switch this January transfer window.

"But we also agreed that Roberto could leave in summer if Hoffenheim and a club reached agreement over the fee."
