Memphis Depay, a big transfer target for Manchester United, has help exploratory talks with Paris Saint Germain.

According to Voetbal International, the Dutchman has held talks with the French club to see how they would value him.

VI say Depay would prefer a move to the Premier League where a host of clubs are interested in him including Manchester United and Liverpool.

In the January, PSG made an offer to PSV Eindhoven for the 21-year-old but it was rejected. They are stepping up there interested in him and with any suggestion that he wouldn't prefer the Premier League, they will swoop in for him.

On Monday, VAVEL told you that the Dutch media were certain that United were 'very close' to a deal with Depay. Yet PSG are willing to 'pull out all the stops' to sign Depay and have contacted both PSV and the player and his representatives.

Depay has been in stunning form for PSV this season with 20 goals in 27 games and has had a massive hand in helping them to the Eredisivie title this year, their status as Champions confirmed last weekend.

Louis van Gaal, Manchester United boss, worked with Depay at the 2014 World Cup and was impressed by his potential. The feeling is reversible with Depay impressed with van Gaal and thankful for giving him the opportunity at the World Cup.

Money is a problem for neither Paris Saint Germain or Manchester United and Liverpool are also looking at the Dutch international but are more uncertain than their two rivals in the transfer market.
