Manchester United are preparing a bid for Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez.

The Swiss full-back was subject to interest from Man United last season and the rumours intensified until Luke Shaw signed for the club.

Despite having Luke Shaw in the United ranks, according to BILD, Louis van Gaal sees Ricardo Rodriguez as a transfer target this summer.

Manchester United interested in Ricardo Rodriguez

Rodriguez has a clause in his contrast which would allow him to leave should a Champions League club bid £24.2 million for him this summer.

The 22-year-old would be a good addition to most Premier League sides but it's difficult to see Manchester United being his destination when the Reds already have a talented young left-back in Luke Shaw at the club.

Earlier this year, Rodriguez' agent told Gazzeto della Sport that Louis van Gaal and United had called irfor 'information' on the situation regarding his player.

He said, "I can say that United have called for information, but that Wolfsburg do not want to give in."

Manchester United have already completed the signing of Memphis Depay this month and the rumours have already begun to surround one of the biggest club's in the world.
