According to the former France manager Raymond Domenech Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin should join Manchester United in order to boost his chances for Euro 2016. He believes the midfielder needs a big move to progress in his career.

Schneiderlin has been pivotal for the Saints in the last two years. The midfielder was blocked from moving away from Saints last year as they wanted to hold on him after an exodus of stars left. But this year Schneiderlin has suggested that he wants a move away to play in the Champions League but remain in the Premier League.

Arsenal interested

Manchester United have been touted to be the possible destination for Schneiderlin as his long admirer Arsene Wenger withdrew his interest in him. The Saints are holding out for a fee of £25 million. While talking to media Domenech suggested that "for him, United is a good move”.

The Red Devils finished fourth last year and are back into Champions League after they missed out on Europe's top club competition last term. Louis van Gaal has also expressed his desire to sign a right footed central midfielder and Schneiderlin fits the bill perfectly. Domenech believes that if Schneiderlin “wants to be with the French national team, then he has to be in this Champions League.”

Champions League Football Required

Despite the fact United are in Champions League again Domenech believes "United are better than Southampton, sure, but it's not City, it's not Chelsea”. However, Schneiderlin needs a step up in his career so “for him, the first thing is to leave Southampton.”

The former French boss has no doubts regarding Schneiderlin's abilities and suggested that “he is good enough for the Champions League." Schneiderlin has returned to Saints for pre-season training but sooner rather than later his future will be sorted. United are believed to return with an improved bid after their first bid of £20 million was rejected.
