After spending last season on loan with Dinamo Zagreb and failing to get enough opportunities at Manchester United, Chilean international Angelo Henriquez has completed a deal to join the Croatian giants on a permanent move.

Henriquez leaves United despite great season

Henriquez joined The Red Devils from Universidad de Chile back in 2012 but he was never able to play on a competitive match for the Old Trafford side. His only goal in a United shirt came on a friendly against Swedish side AIK Solna but he was never able to convince the managers enough to stay with the squad so he had plenty of loan spells away from the team.

Henriquez spent time with Wigan Athletic, Real Zaragoza and Dinamo before the latter made the move permanent, although terms of the deal haven't been disclosed. The Chilean forward had some decent moments at Wigan but failed to impress at Zaragoza so his chances were slim before the start of the season.

Dinamo secure youngster for supposed cheap price

He appeared to rediscover his top form with Dinamo and the 21-year-old netted an impressive 21 goals in 36 matches as Dinamo won the league title and Henriquez ended the season as the top scorer.

Henriquez also scored three goals in six UEFA Europa League matches, proving he can also score on the international stage and emerging himself as a good option on the attack of the Chile National Team.

In fact, Henriquez was part of the 23-man squad that won the Copa America last week on Chilean soil and while he only played two matches - against Argentina and Bolivia - he is certainly one player to watch for the future both at the club and international levels.

Henriquez certainly has the potential to become an important striker at the European level in the coming years so United are hoping his departure doesn't come back to bite them in the future, just like it happened with Paul Pogba and especially after other highly touted prospects like Saidy Janko and Tom Thorpe have already left the club this summer.
