Manchester United are on the verge of signing a second player this summer. Last night Torino’s manager Giampeiro Ventura confirmed that Matteo Darmian will play for Manchester United next season to fulfill his dream of playing in Champions League.

The Red Devils have reportedly agreed a fee below £13 million for the right back from Italy. Earlier in the window United had signed Memphis Depay for an undisclosed fee from PSV Eindhoven.
Former Manchester United forward Federico Macheda has kind words for his Italian counterpart. The Italian played only nineteen times and scoring four goals before making a permanent switch to Cardiff City. The striker believes Darmian should “certainly expect great things when joining a world-class club" while he has no doubt about Darmian’s talent because “he is ready for this adventure.”
Macheda says Darmian can find consistency and succeed
The Cardiff City striker was not able to establish himself at Old Trafford after a sparkling start. Yet he still feels that “wearing the Red Devils jersey is certainly a big responsibility” due to the rich history of the club. Macheda thinks that Darmian has the perfect “character” and will thrive at United if he “finds consistency.”
Darmian spent last four seasons at Torino after coming through the youth ranks of AC Milan. He is known for his versatility as he can play right as well as on the left side of the defence. He could also play as a centre back in a three man defence and is one of the most consistent players for the Italian national team.
Darmian will be new first choice right-back
Last season he was able to grab two goals and one assist for Torino in all competitions. With the uncertainity over the future of Rafael Da Silva and Antonio Valencia being a make shift right back, Darmian will be a welcome addition to Manchester United.
