Manchester United legend and former-captain of the club Bryan Robson has praised new signing Morgan Schneiderlin after watching him in pre-season.

Schneiderlin has featured in every single one of United's three games in the pre-season tournament the International Champions Cup, and has impressed Robson.

The Frenchman joined from Southampton for a fee thought to be around £25 million and has already fitted in well to United's midfield.

Robson pleased with 'top player' Schweinsteiger signing

Robson, still known fondly to United fans as Captain Marvel, says that “Bastian Schweinsteiger looks like a really top player,” but mainly spoke of the qualities of Schneiderlin.

The former-United captain says that Schweinsteiger "is absolutely quality" but for him "the one who has really stood out" in United's pre-season "is Morgan Schneiderlin."

Robson says that "he has really impressed... in the way he moves" and "the ways that he presses people", shown in United's first two games against Club America and San Jose Earthquakes.

Club legend says Schneiderlin has stood out in pre-season

"His range of passes is also really good," Robson said. "He always wants the ball" and "he is regularly dropping in between the two centre-backs", usually Phil Jones and Daley Blind.

Robson says he has "been really impressed" with Schneiderlin, who has been labeled as the long term replacement for Michael Carrick.

Schneiderlin is expected to start again for Manchester United against Paris Saint-Germain in the final game of their pre-season tour of America, having played for the majority of the 3-1 victory over Barcelona in Santa Clara last Saturday.
