It has been revealed that Manchester United's Memphis Depay has the best selling Premier League shirt and the third-best selling shirt in the world so far this season.

Popular demand

Figures released by retailer Kitbag has revealed that the Dutchman's name has been the third most requested on the planet and only stands behind Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona's Lionel Messi who sit in second and first respectively. It is an exceptional figure considering he was only brought in this summer with his £25million transfer from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven. Also, his number seven squad number was not revealed until a week before the beginning of the season after the sale of Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain with Memphis wearing nine throughout pre-season.

Memphis wasn't the only member of United to appear on the list with fellow summer signing Bastian Schweinsteiger appearing in fourth while club captain Wayne Rooney appeared in the sixth spot.

International trouble

It has been a busy few days for Memphis but mainly for the wrong reasons as it was confirmed by Netherlands national manager Danny Blind, farther of United and Netherlands midfielder Daley that Memphis and former United striker Robin van Persie had a training ground bust-up ahead of Netherlands 2-1 victory over Kazakhstan

Blind was quoted by www.telegraaf.nl to say that there some situations in training where players "think different" but then you "talk about it" and then "it's over" which Blind firmly believes this situation was.

Memphis will be hoping to make an impact on domestic football once again when Manchester United travel to take on Everton on Saturday, October 16, with kick-off at 3PM BST.
